Hadley Hammer
Professional skier Hadley Hammer excels in a variety of settings, whether that be the rugged terrain of her home mountain of Jackson Hole, skiing’s silver screen, a ski mountaineering expedition, a big-mountain competition start gate or a high-end wine cellar.
While Hadley grew up in the Tetons, skiing was never her sole focus. The multi-faceted Jackson Hole native spent her childhood figure skating, rock climbing, ski racing and Nordic skiing, but those extracurricular activities were always anchored with plenty of days freeskiing Jackson Hole Mountain Resort with her two brothers. After earning her B.A in Hospitality and Economics in New England, she lived in Washington D.C., working in the hospitality business and earning sommelier status. In an effort to achieve greater balance between work and play, Hadley moved back to Jackson to manage a high-end hotel when she fell into competition skiing. Lured to a local gym by her younger brother who was on U.S. Ski Team, she bonded with local skiers and signed up for a competition circuit in South America that summer at the age of 25.
Hadley spent two consecutive years on the Freeride World Tour and then transitioned to a film career. In 2016, she made her on-screen debut in the Teton Gravity Research film Tight Loose. She’s since pushed her skiing in the backcountry of British Columbia, Alaska, Norway and the French Alps.
